School of Public Health is instituted in the year 2018 with an aim to build capacity of next genera of public health professional. In consonance, School of Public Health has launched two year, full time, on campus Master in Public Health programme for graduates, who aspire to be leaders and professionals in public health. The overall objective of the MPH programme is to prepare competent public health professional who can efficiently and effectively manage, lead, implement and evaluate public health programme in India and other countries through evidence based practice.
It draws its strength from multiple disciplines such as epidemiology and biostatistics, environmental health, social and behavioural sciences, occupational safety and health, health economics, health policy, health service administration, program management etc. Emerging as a centre of excellence in the 12 years of genesis, our faculty brings experience from multiple disciplines and has hands on expertise in local, national, and international health settings. Our capabilities in research, knowledge and practice have been tested from time to time and proved successful. The School of Public Health has been conducting a number of short courses/training programmes for different categories and groups of health force on a regular basis in coordination with State Governments/ Central Ministries/ International agencies. Located at an exotic location, Gangtok, SRMUS offers strong academic ambience, innovative pedagogy, student friendly environment with modern facilities, excellent placement record, indept research activities and global status to its student. School of Public Health has tremendous opportunities to design the future and shape of public health aspirants both in India as well as global context.
Post Graduate
An entire new building has been acquired by the University to house the School of Public Health. The new Academic building is located half a kilometer away from SRM Bhavan. The building will house an Auditorium, Central Library, Canteen, Departments, Classrooms and various Laboratories as required by each discipline. To facilitate student transportation two University buses are available.

As part of the practical curriculum for the Master of Public Health (MPH) 2nd Semester, students from SRM University Sikkim undertook a two-day field visit to Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) centres.
The School of Public Health recently hosted a captivating lecture by Professor Kaushik Sankar Bose. Titled "Anthropometric Evaluation of Nutritional Status with Special Reference to Indian Tribal Populations: Past, Present, and Future," the lecture explored the use of anthropometric measurements, like height, weight, and body mass index, to assess the nutritional status of tribal communities in India.
